Oxford Epidemiology LLC International Development Internship Summer 2018
Are you interested in a career in international development or public health? Join Oxford
Epidemiology’s (OxfordEpi) 2018 internship cohort and work alongside experts in health systems
strengthening, quality improvement and data analysis.
Through OxfordEpi’s International Development Internship, undergraduate students will
gain valuable, firsthand experience and insight in this exciting field. The program provides interns
with multiple opportunities for professional development in the areas of data processing,
business development, training and capacity building, questionnaire design and implementation
along with direct interactions with donors, implementing agencies, and remotely with ministries of
health in developing countries. The program runs from June 4, 2018 to July 27, 2018. At the end
of the eight-week Internship, participants will present findings from their research projects or
other specific deliverables.
To be considered for Oxford Epi’s International Development Internship each applicant
must submit the following:
- A compelling statement of interest, including a statement of academic and research
experience; and attesting to your willingness to participate in the internship from June 4, 2018
through July 13, 2018, with possibility for extension.
- Letter of recommendation from an academic source
- Unofficial transcript
- Applications are due by March 31, 2018.
- Individuals selected to participate in Oxford Epi’s internship Program will be selected and
notified by April 30, 2018.
Oxford Epi’s Internship program seeks current rising junior and senior undergraduate
students in relevant fields of study, including health sciences, public health, pre-med,
international relations, computer science, mathematics, marketing, or business, among others.
Strong candidates will demonstrate an ability to conduct research and write effectively. All
candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. on June 4, 2018. Interns must commit to
participation for the entire duration of the program (June 4, 2018 through July 13, 2018). Interns
will develop an individual or team project, which will be presented to their peers.
